Here’s what The Liquor Store has ready for you at our Growler Station as of January 23rd:

Grand Teton Brewing Black Cauldron Imperial Stout

Black Cauldron is a strong ale, best enjoyed in moderation, and paired with full-flavored grilled or roasted meats or with dessert. Chocolate cakes, truffles, fruit tarts, caramel flan or crème brûlée are all excellent matches.

Wildlife Brewing Mighty Bison Brown

“Our Flagship Beer” A dark American Brown Ale that’s malty and complex with a hoppy finish. This is a Brown with atttude! Check them out on Facebook or on their website.

Avery Brewing Company Ellie’s Brown Ale

This beautiful, deep russet brew has the sweet and somewhat nutty character of Adam Avery’s late (1992-2002) Chocolate Lab, for which it is named. Crystal and chocolate malts give this beer a brown sugar maltiness with hints of vanilla and nuts, while subtle hopping gives it an overall drinkability that’s second to none, just like Ellie!

More about Ellie’s Brown Ale

Sierra Nevada Northern Hemisphere Harvest

Each fall, hops reach their peak flavor- bursting with aromatic oils that give ales layers of complex flavor and aroma that can only happen at harvest time. For us, fall comes twice a year- once in each hemisphere. This Harvest Ale features “wet” or un-dried whole-cone hops from Yakima, WA that are plucked from the bine and delivered to our brewery within 24 hours of picking.

Snake River Brewing See You in Helles

Helles is the German word for light-colored and perfectly describes this lager beer which is full bodied and lightly hopped. Pilsner and aromatic malts combine to give it a light golden color. Just like the Bavarian Helles beers of Munich, it uses the hop varieties of southern Germany. The alcohol content is 4.7%. See you in Helles is the signature beer of Mark Spilker.

Big Sky Brewing Moose Drool

It’s chocolate brown in color with a creamy texture. A malty beer with just enough hop presence to keep it from being too sweet. The aroma mostly comes from the malt with a hint of spice added by the hops. Moose Drool is brewed with pale, caramel, chocolate, and whole black malts; and Kent Goldings, Liberty, and WILLAMETTE HOPS. It has an original gravity of 13 degrees Plato, and is 4.2% alcohol by weight, 5.3% by volume.

Click Here to Lean More About Big Sky Brewing Moose Drool

Grand Teton Old Faithful Pale Ale

Old Faithful Ale is golden blonde in color with a crisp body and light malt sweetness. We cold conditioned this ale to give it a pleasantly smooth character and dry palate. The domestically grown noble hops give this beer a light, floral hop aroma, making it exceptionally easy to drink.

Wind River Strom Bomb Stout

An Oatmeal Stout by style. This is a fairly large beer. Very dark in color. This big malty beer is filled with complex flavors which include, caramel, toffee, coffee, and espresso flavors. The addition of 150 pounds of oatmeal to this brew helps smooth out all those complex flavors creating a slightly creamy mouth feel. This beer is hopped just enough to balance out the high level of sweetness in this beer.
7.4% A.B.V.

More about Wind River Brewing Company

Snake River Brewing Zonker Stout

A rich, well-balanced foreign style stout with a huge amount of roasted barley as well as chocolate, black, and caramel malts. The intense roast character is the main attribute of this black colored beer. The alcohol content is 6.0%. Zonker has been recognized time and again as one of the top foregin style stouts.

What’s on tap this week? Check it all out here:

Odell Brewing Company Bourbon Barrel Stout

This limited edition offering begins with a full-bodied imperial stout that has notes of sweet milk chocolate, smooth vanilla and roasted coffee beans. Then things get interesting. We transfer it to Kentucky bourbon barrels where it’s aged for four months to let traces of oak and caramel come forward. The bourbon barrels have a remarkable effect on the beer. In turn, the beer has a remarkable effect on the senses. 10.5% Alc. by Vol.

Sierra Nevada Northern Hemisphere Harvest

Grand Teton Old Faithful Pale Ale

Alaskan Amber Ale

The name of this beer style comes from the German word “alt” meaning “old”. This refers to the aging that alts undergo since they ferment more slowly and at colder temperatures than most ales. Slow fermentation helps condition the flavors in Alaskan Amber, contributing to its overall balance and smoothness. Richly malty and long on the palate, with just enough hop backing to make this beautiful amber colored “alt” style beer notably well balanced. Smooth and richly malted, this altbier goes well king or silver salmon, flavorful meats and hearty Italian dishes. Also pairs nicely with delicate cheeses, artichokes and roasted red peppers – a perfect accompaniment to gourmet pizzas.

Deschutes Brewing Red Chair NorthWest Pale Ale

The citrus punch of a big IPA, minus the one-dimensional hop sledgehammer. Seven select European and domestic malts round out the edges for a complex, copper-colored brew. Like its namesake skilift, it’s an insider’s ride to fresh thrills.

As Friday the 13th approaches, we introduce Lagunitas Lucky 13 as one of the newest editions to the Growler Station this week!

Lagunitas Brewing Company Lucky 13

Our 13th Anniversary Beer in was a Staff Favorite, So We Make it Each Year. BIG on the Amarillo Hops and Rich Dark Malts for a Round and Huge, Smoky Flavor. ABV 8.3% For more info click here.

Here’s what else we have in store for you!

10.5% Alc. by Vol.

Deschutes Black Butte Porter

Our flagship beer, Black Butte Porter defined Deschutes as a place intent to follow its own brewing muse. At a time when dark beer was viewed with suspicion, this deep, satiny brew went out and dispelled the myths for a generation of enthusiasts. Black Butte is rich in flavor yet easy to drink, with a creamy, smooth mouth feel. The slight hop bitterness up front only enhances the distinctive chocolate and roasted finish to come. It continues to reap accolades and medals from those who know best.

Snake River Brewing International Beer of Mystery

What is it? English yeast, German Hops, Idaho Malt and Stinky for your father. You’re bound to have an identity crisis!! Pounds per barrel, one of the hoppiest beers we’ve made yet the flavors are more subtle from the old school, noble German hop varieties. It’s not the pungent resinous overkill of the American hops. You try, you like.

Grand Teton Brewing Sweetgrass APA

Sweetgrass APA is a Pale Ale of distinction! 2009 Great American Beer Festival Gold Medal winner in the American Pale Ale category, this crisp and fragrant beer is hopped and dry-hopped with plenty of Amarillos and Cascades. Try it with any bold, flavorful food to complement its citrusy, resinous spiciness. Alcohol 6.0% by volume.

Avery duganA Double IPA

Lupulin Rapture Incarnate! As fervent devotees of hops, we found ourselves on a quest to create a transcendental IPA capable of quenching our voracious lupulin desires. Our mantra became “unity of bitterness, hop flavor and aroma.” Enlightened, duganA IPA was born: A brutally bitter, dank, piney and resinous ale designed for those seeking a divine hop experience.

Here’s what we have for you in this first week of 2012:

Snake River Brewing Pako’s Eye-P-A

Named for Pako the dog (No wait, Pako’s not a dog!) This full flavored, fully hop-evident IPA will have the hopheads rejoicing.

Wind River Brewing TKO

Not the “Darkest” beer we brew but the strongest. T.K.O. Is an Old Ale style beer pushing Barley Wine status. TKO is brewed using malted barley from England, Germany, and the U.S.. This ale uses more than double the malted barley we use in the production of the Kolsch. The result is a very sharply alcoholic but surprisingly smooth ale. Many caramel, candy like and slightly roasted malt flavors come through fairly dry and slightly balanced by moderate hop bitterness.
12.5% A.B.V.

Odell Brewing Company Isolation Ale

A funny thing happens here around summer’s end – our eyes start searching the skies for those first fall flakes. As we welcome autumn’s first snow, we celebrate the return of Isolation Ale. A sweet caramel malty ale that is balanced by a subtle crisp hop finish. Whether you ski, shred, or shoe, Isolation Ale will inspire you to make first tracks.

Grand Teton Brewing Company Tail Waggin’ Double Ale

Tail Waggin’ Double White Ale is brewed in the Belgian tradition, using malted barley, wheat malt, candi sugar and a unique touch— unmalted rye. Noble-type hops are used for balanced bitterness, with spices added in the whirlpool. We followed the Belgian tradition of using bitter orange peel and coriander, then added a bit of lemongrass to make our wit something special. Finally, we fermented the beer with a Belgian witbier yeast that adds its own complexity with spicy phenols and fruity esters. For more description click here.

Samuel Adams Winter Lager

Bold and rich, with a touch of holiday spice. The first thing one notices about a Samuel Adams Winter Lager is the deep ruby color. Then comes the magical aroma which promises something special on the tongue. The cinnamon, ginger, and hint of citrus from the orange peel blend with the roasty sweetness of the malts to deliver a warming, spicy flavor. On the palate Samuel Adams Winter Lager is rich and full bodied, robust and warming, a wonderful way to enjoy the cold evenings that come with the season.

Sierra Nevada Northern Hemisphere Harvest

Each fall, hops reach their peak flavor- bursting with aromatic oils that give ales layers of complex flavor and aroma that can only happen at harvest time.
Winner of People’s Choice award at the Laramie Beer Festival, 2011.

Lips of Faith Fresh Hop IPA

A truckload of fresh hops on a midnight run from Washington State to Northern Colorado made it to our kettles just in time. Fresh Hop IPA is a citrus punch of the green stuff: Amarillo, Centennial and Cascade hops straight off the vine. This brazen and deliciously bitter IPA pours deeply golden with the slight haze of a really hoppy beer. The fresh hops poke you right in the nose and the liquid hits your tongue with a sharp blast, finishing light and dry. This is the hop harvest, in a glass, just for you. More info.

Samuel Adams Winter Lager

Bold and rich, with a touch of holiday spice. The first thing one notices about a Samuel Adams Winter Lager is the deep ruby color.
Snake River Brewing OB-1

OB-1 (Organic Beer Number 1) is a USDA certified organic English style brown ale. Snake River Brewing is proud to be the first and only brewery to be making certified organic beer in the state of Wyoming. Made from 100% organic malt and 100% organic hops. The only other ingredients are Teton mountain spring water and an imported strain of English ale yeast. The alcohol content is 5.2%. OB-1 is a signature beer of Chris Erickson.

Wildlife Brewing Point It! Pale Ale

Our most popular beer with Teton Valley locals. Not your standard Pale; more body and mouth feel than regular Pales, with focus on a big malty profile, and more finishing hops than bittering. The result is great aroma and lots of hop flavor that’s very dinkable for micro brew rookies and pro micro quaffers. Check them out on Facebook or on their website.

Grand Teton Brewing Cellar Reserve Coming Home Holiday Ale

The Cellar Reserve series of beers are unique, different even from other craft beers. Our Cellar Reserves are brewed with specialty hops and malts and unique strains of yeast. Most ales and lagers are produced in 2-4 weeks. However, 3 to 8 months are spent on each of the Cellar Reserve specialty brews. They are also bottle and keg-conditioned, which produces natural carbonation that will blend and smooth the flavors with age. These beers have a long shelf life and don’t need to be rapidly consumed. Proper aging of these bottles creates beers to be cherished. Our Cellar Master provides regular tasting notes and aging updates on his web page, “Notes from Underground.

Avery Brewing Company Hog Heaven

This dangerously drinkable garnet beauty is a hop lover’s delight. The intense dry-hop nose and the alcohol content are perfectly balanced for a caramel candy-like malt finish. This is a serious beer for serious beer afficianados and it only gets better with age. Cellarable for 3 years.

New Belgium Brewing Company: Lips of Faith Prickly Passion Saison

Prickly pear and passion fruit mingle together for New Belgium’s return to farmhouse ales. Prickly Passion Saison is truly a beer for Belgian inspiration. The combination of passion fruit and prickly pear juices with the tropical esters of a traditionally earthy Saison yeast create a wonderfully broad and reaching mango-like character. Ostentatiously amber, this Prickly Passion Saison is sure to provoke the palate with a passionate prick, turn that bottle over and take a sip.

Alaskan Brewing Company Smoked Porter

The dark, robust body and pronounced smoky flavor of this limited edition beer make it an adventuresome taste experience. Alaskan Smoked Porter is produced in limited “vintages” each year on November 1 and unlike most beers, may be aged in the bottle much like fine wine. Alaskan Smoked Porter may be enjoyed with smoked seafood, cheese and other robust foods and as an after-dinner drink. It pairs beautifully with everything from bleu cheese to vanilla ice cream and raspberries. This unique beer is also a wonderful flavoring ingredient in sauces, seafood dishes and even cheesecake. Want more details?

Here’s what’s in store for you at The Growler Station as of December 8th!

Avery India Pale Ale

In the 1700s one crafty brewer discovered that a healthy dose of hops and an increased alcohol content preserved his ales during the long voyage to India (as depicted in our label) to quench the thirst of British troops. Today, we tip our hat to that historic innovation by brewing Colorado’s hoppiest pale ale. Avery IPA demands to be poured into your favorite glass to truly appreciate the citrusy, floral bouquet and the rich, malty finish.

Wildlife Brewing Mighty Bison Brown

“Our Flagship Beer” A dark American Brown Ale that’s malty and complex with a hoppy finish. This is a Brown with atttude! Check them out on Facebook or on their website.

Avery Brewing Company Out of Bounds Stout

This big, roasty stout takes flavor to the extreme. We aren’t afraid to use plenty of rich roasted barley and a mountain of hops to give this full-bodied stout that little extra something you’ve been looking for in a beer. ABV: 6.3% More info at the Avery website.

New Belgium Snow Day Seasonal Ale

Pleasantly hoppy, Snow Day carries the subtle chocolate and caramel flavors of a new brewing malt known as Midnight Wheat. The Styrian Golding, Centennial and Cascade hops bring the backbone of hoppy bitterness to complement the roasty undertones. This beer is the deep garnet of a roasted walnut and presents a creamy tan head, floating artfully atop. Snow Day is bold and hoppy, drinkable and strong.
It reminds you to enjoy the unexpected. Click here for more!

Named for Pako the dog (No wait, Pako’s not a dog!) This full flavored, fully hop-evident IPA will have the hopheads rejoicing.

Every year, fall’s crisp, cool air signals the imminent arrival of winter.

Here’s what we’re serving up at The Growler Station as of Wednesday, Nov 23rd:

New Belgium Brewing Belgo IPA

“When we set out to brew, we use imagination and salvation to guide us- not necessarily style guidelines. It’s the Belgian way. So, Ameri-Belgo and IPA both being styles, the branding begged for New Belgium whimsy to liven things up. Hmmm… Belgo sounds like a Belgian disco. Hops like to party. Next thing you know, we bust out a disco-ball and brewers started groovin’. Hops started hoppin’. Add in an authentic Trappist yeast strain and the place brewed into a frenzy of citrus hoppy folly. “

Click here to learn more about the Belgo IPA.

Madison River Brewing Hopper Pale Ale

In late summer, the grassy banks of the Madison River are jumping with grasshoppers. At Madison River Brewing Company we are always jumping at the chance to make another batch of Hopper Pale Ale. Four different barley malts lend a rich amber color and create a backdrop to showcase the distinctive citrus-like flavor and floral aroma of hops harvested in the Pacific Northwest. Get Hooked on Hopper Pale Ale!

Snake River Kolenbrau

Only the beers from the city of Köln, Germany are allowed to be called Kölsch. While most German beers are lagers, Kölsch is one of the few German ales. This beer is light in color and quenching, very mild in hop character. This is a signature beer of Chris Erickson. The recipe was written after returning from a trip overseas visiting our German brewer friend Guido Waldecker and is named in his honor. Guido’s Kölnerbrau has an alcohol content of 4.9%.

Wind River Brewing Adventure Amber Ale

An American Amber Ale style beer. The Wind River Brewing Adventrue Amber Ale is full of sweet malty flavors and a heavy dose of complex hop flavors and aromas. Deep copper in color. Because this is an American Amber Ale style beer it features strong American citrus and floral hop aromas.
6.2%A.B.V.

Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale

The long, cold nights of winter are a little brighter with Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale. Wonderfully robust and rich, Celebration® Ale is dry-hopped for a lively, intense aroma. Brewed especially for the holidays, it is perfect for a festive gathering or for a quiet evening at home.

“…best beer ever made in America.”
– Stan Sessor, San Francisco Chronicle

Grand Teton Brewing Fest Bier Marzen Lager

Our Fest Bier is offered in honor of the old ways. We brew it in the spring with German Pilsner and Vienna malts, hop it with German Hallertaus, and ferment at low temperatures with lager yeast from a monastery brewery near Munich. It ferments for weeks in our cellar, then it was moved to cold storage for further aging until its release in late summer.

The reddish Vienna malts in this beer provide a spicy sweetness and some caramel notes that perfectly complement roast or grilled chicken, pizza, or pasta with red sauce. Fest Bier is 6% alcohol by volume.

New Belgium Brewing Belgo IPA

Madison River Brewing Hopper Pale Ale

Grand Teton Brewing Bitch Creek Extra Special Brown

Bitch Creek perfectly balances big malt sweetness and robust hop flavor for a full bodied, satisfying mahogany ale. Like the stream for which it is named, our Bitch Creek ESB is full of character… not for the timid.

More About Bitch Creek Extra Special Brown

Snake River Kolenbrau

Snake River International Beer of Mystery

Grand Teton Brewing Sweetgrass American Pale Ale

Sweetgrass APA is a Pale Ale of distinction! 2009 Great American Beer Festival Gold Medal winner in the American Pale Ale category, this crisp and fragrant beer is hopped and dry-hopped with plenty of Amarillos and Cascades. Try it with any bold, flavorful food to complement its citrusy, resinous spiciness. Alcohol 6.0% by volume.

Avery Brewing Company’s White Rascal

A truly authentic Belgian style wheat or “white” ale, this Rascal is unfiltered (yup, that’s yeast on the bottom) and cleverly spiced with coriander and Curacao orange peel producing a refreshingly fruity thirst quencher. Read more about White Rascal here.
